Head Coach (Major Sport) oversees all activities of a major athletic team. Plans and directs training of student athletes, and assesses individuals' abilities and skill level to determine appropriate team position. Being a Head Coach (Major Sport) analyzing opposition team performance and capabilities and determines game strategy. Assists players in reaching highest athletic potential possible through athletic training and leadership skills. Additionally, Head Coach (Major Sport) must be familiar with NCAA rules and regulations. Requires a bachelor's degree in the related area. Typically reports to a institutional officer. Head Coach (Major Sport) is a specialist on complex technical and business matters. Work is highly independent. May assume a team lead role for the work group. The Arena Club, located in Bel Air Maryland, is currently seeking highly motivated Personal Trainers and/or Sports Performance coaches to join our team of professionals. Personal Trainers and/or Sports Performance Coaches are expected to take a proactive role in client and member engagement to provide exemplary service.
Interested applicants must be comfortable working with a wide range of populations and demonstrate proficiency in designing safe and appropriate exercise prescription for these populations.
Additionally, candidates must be a team player and demonstrate excellent customer service, organizational skills, communication and positive attitude.
Competitive candidates have a diverse knowledge of the fitness industry with a minimum of 6 months experience. Completion of, or enrollment in, Bachelor’s Degree program in Exercise Science or related field is preferred but not required. Current CPR with AED is required in addition to a nationally accredited personal training or sports performance certification (NASM, ACSM, NSCA, NSPA, ACE, etc.).
