Head Golf Professional is responsible for the overall day-to-day operations and services of the golf course, including the golf shop, tournaments, practice facilities, and cart fleet. Ensures golf facilities are properly maintained. Being a Head Golf Professional coordinates marketing programs to promote the facility's services to potential customers and oversees member events and daily play. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Head Golf Professional requires an active Professional Golfers' Association (PGA) membership. Typically reports to a golf course general manager. The Head Golf Professional manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Head Golf Professional typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. Cedar Rapids, IA | Founded in 1947, Elmcrest Country Club (ECC) is a private, member owned club. ECC has approximately 365 golf members playing 19,000 golf rounds per year. The Golf Learning Center (GLC) provides golf and development to the membership December - March creating a 12 month golf season. The GLC utilizes three Fullswing Golf Simulators, a putting/fitting room, and two additional indoor hitting bays.
ECC is the host of the Zach Johnson Foundation Classic. ECC has hosted the 2015 and 2022 Iowa Boys 4A State Golf Tournament as well as multiple Iowa Golf Association and Iowa PGA events.
The incoming Seasonal Assistant Golf Professional will join an energetic and driven team that enjoys the challenges of providing an exceptional experience to our members and guests. The responsibilities of being an Assistant Golf Professional at ECC will prepare the successful candidate to advance their career in the golf industry as a Head Golf Professional.
ECC strives to provide five day work weeks throughout the year with occasional extended hours during our signature events.
