Ensures golf facilities are properly maintained. Being a Head Golf Professional coordinates marketing programs to promote the facility's services to potential customers and oversees member events and daily play. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Head Golf Professional requires an active Professional Golfers' Association (PGA) membership. Typically reports to a golf course general manager. The Head Golf Professional manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Head Golf Professional typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. Job Description:
The Head Golf Professional will manage all aspects of the golf operation. They will operate at both a tactical and strategic level, continuously developing and overseeing all aspects of golf at Great River, including: a first-class service standard, a vibrant tournament and social calendar, highly profitable and professionally displayed retail operation, and grow the instructional program available at the club. The Head Golf Professional will ensure a consistently high level of member satisfaction while looking to identify revenue enhancement opportunities.
The Head Golf Professional will develop operating policies and procedures that will direct the work of all department managers, implement and monitor the budget of all areas of golf operations, and manage the quality of the club's products, services, and assets.
The Head Golf Professional will be responsible for the reporting of all areas of management directly to the General Manager and work closely with the General Manager to ensure the club is in position to hit all performance and financial goals.
