Being a Head Golf Professional coordinates marketing programs to promote the facility's services to potential customers and oversees member events and daily play. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Head Golf Professional requires an active Professional Golfers' Association (PGA) membership. Typically reports to a golf course general manager. The Head Golf Professional manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Position Summary:
The HP/AGM will develop and implement strategies for golf events and golf programs designed to improve the Club’s products, image, and services as well as its competitive position in the marketplace. Specifically, The HP/AGM is directly responsible for driving the golf outing and banquet business through active sales and marketing efforts. He/She will implement the facility’s social media and marketing efforts and should be comfortable with posting on various social media platforms, creating email blasts, and using Golf Genius software. The HP/AGM helps to oversee all golf shop, outside services operations, beverage cart staff and is responsible for ensuring that all guests receive outstanding customer service. Additionally, he/she is accountable for achieving budgeted financial goals relative to the operations for which he/she is responsible. He/She will work closely with GM to make sure golf operation and all departments are running properly.
