Primary Purpose

Assist the Golf Professional and Business Manager with all facets of golf operations.

This is a part-time non-benefits seasonal position. The hiring range for this role is $25.42 - $31.80 / hour.

Responsibilities

• Promotes tournaments, clinics and league participation. Assists with planning, organizing, and overseeing tournaments, clinics and leagues. (Including but not limited to preparation, set-up, scoring and breakdown)
• Supervises golf car operation.
• Supervises range operation.
• Practices golf game and plays with members as necessary. May be asked to represent at local and state events.
• Help to create and supervise a quality junior golf program through the Middlebury Recreation Department.

• Work closely with Head Professional to help create and maintain a quality junior golf program while assuring a safe environment for students to learn the basics of golf while having fun.
• Create outline for junior golf program
• Develop lesson plans and daily organization of junior program
• Oversee and train a staff of counselors
• Create schedule for counselors so that there is adequate coverage for number of students.
• Coordinate student participants with Rec. Dept.

• Keeps golf shop supplies current (scorecards, tees, pencils, etc.)
• Assists with marketing, including weekly newsletter and event promotion in the absence of the business manager.
• Assists all customers as necessary and is expected maintain weekly shifts at the golf shop as well as Perform duties of outside service, ranger or starter personnel when scheduled.
• Provide golf lessons to members, students, guests, and juniors as assigned by Head Professional
• Spearhead junior camps and Jr. PGA program.
• Act as a role model by demonstrating the work ethic expected of all employees.
• Maintain a positive and professional image while on the property and within the community.
• Help to provide great customer service to all members, students, and guests.
• Helps with club repairs and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education & Training

High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience

1-3 years of experience of playing golf and competing in tournaments required.

Knowledge

Must understand the rules of golf game and golf course operations.
