Delegates responsibilities to auxiliary and intensive care unit staff nurses; supervises preparation and maintenance of intensive care unit patient clinical records. Being a Head Nurse - Intensive Care Unit manages inventory of solutions, supplies, medicines, narcotics, and equipment according to hospital policies, procedures and regulations. Evaluates intensive care unit staff performance and quality of service. Additionally, Head Nurse - Intensive Care Unit coaches and develops nursing staff. Requires a bachelor's degree in nursing. The Registered Nurse (RN) in the CVMC Intensive Care Unit (ICU) as part of our Critical Care Team is responsible for direct and indirect professional nursing care to patients including:
One year of RN experience to be proficient in all phases of assigned duties, with ICU experience strongly preferred.
Day and Night Shifts: Our shifts in the ICU are typically 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. or 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. We are currently looking for full-time (36 hours/week - 6 shifts/pay period) availability based on our staffing needs.
