Head Nurse - Pediatrics directs nursing service activities for assigned pediatric patients. Delegates responsibilities to pediatric staff nurses; supervises preparation and maintenance of pediatric patient clinical records, and writes reports on pediatrics staff performance and services rendered. Being a Head Nurse - Pediatrics maintains pre-set inventory standards for solutions, supplies, medicines and equipment, and keeps track of narcotics. Requires a bachelor's degree in nursing. Additionally, Head Nurse - Pediatrics requires Registered Nurse (RN). Typically reports to a director. The Head Nurse - Pediatrics manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Pediatric Nurse Practitioner on a Locum Tenens basis to join our healthcare team. Coverage need is flexible: 1-2 days weekly.
In June, coverage needed is 3-5 days weekly from June 9 - June 29
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough physical assessments and medical histories of pediatric patients
- Perform routine check-ups and well-child visits
- Diagnose and treat acute illnesses, such as respiratory infections and gastrointestinal disorders
- Manage chronic conditions, such as asthma and diabetes
- Administer immunizations and vaccinations according to the recommended schedule
- Provide guidance on nutrition, growth, and development
- Educate patients and their families on preventive care measures
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive treatment plans
- Document patient information accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems, including Cerner
- Perform procedures such as inhalation therapy, gastric lavage, and specimen collection processing
Qualifications:
- Valid Nurse Practitioner license in the state of CA
- Master's degree in Nursing with a specialization in Pediatrics
- Certification as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (CPNP)
- Previous experience working in pediatrics is preferred
- Strong knowledge of pediatric healthcare guidelines and best practices
- Familiarity with family planning services for adolescents
- Ability to provide memory care for patients with cognitive impairments
- Proficiency in using medical equipment and tools specific to pediatrics
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages and their families.
Pay: Up to $65.00 per hour
