The Glenshire/Devonshire Residents’ Association (GDRA) is looking for friendly and dynamic individual to join the team at the Glenshire pool this summer to help create fun memories for our community! The Head Lifeguard’s primary responsibility is the prevention of accidents in and around the aquatic facility. The Head Lifeguard is expected to perform lifeguard duties and supervise other lifeguards work. He or she may be asked to provide swimming instruction and assist with managing the operation of pool facilities.
The Glenshire Pool is a family-oriented amenity for the Glenshire and Devonshire residents. It is heated and was recently converted into a saltwater system.
Lifeguards are responsible for the general safety of the pool facilities, pool related accidents, cleanliness of pool facilities and possibly teaching swimming lessons. Candidates must have a current lifeguard certification or the ability to obtain one.
Start date: Mid May, 2024 (mostly weekends) - transition to full schedule will be late June.
Status: Non-exempt/Full-time/Seasonal
Pay: Starts at $22 per hour (Depending on Experience)

Shift: Varying shifts between 7:30am and 7:30pm, 30 to 40 hours/week
Facilities Hours: Normal pool hours are daily 8am to 7pm.

Job Duties:
· Ensure that safety standards, sanitary requirements and regulations are enforced.
· Supervise, organize, motivate, assist with hiring, schedule and evaluation of lifeguards and other pool staff.
· Prepare and maintain routine reports on staff and operations.
· Prepare staff schedules.
· Supervise the care and maintenance of lesson and lifesaving equipment.
· Inventory equipment and supplies.
· Enforce water safety rules and regulations.
· Perform rescues, resuscitation and provide first aid as needed.
· Fill out all accident or incident reports immediately.
· Act as a liaison between the public, staff, and office personnel.
· Suggest program improvements.
· Assist in teaching swimming lessons.
· Assist in supervising routine maintenance.
· Plan and facilitate staff meetings and in-service training. Attend all training and meetings as required.
· Remain flexible to help fill in for vacant shifts.
· Manage registration and general daily functions of the aquatic facility.
· Notify supervisors of disturbances, emergencies and staff performance problems.
· Open and close swimming facilities.
