Takes samples and measurements of hazardous materials, and coordinates the removal of physical, biological and chemical hazards. Being a Health and Safety Administrator trains employees on safety, company policies and procedures, and regulations pertaining to employee safety. Ensures compliance with all applicable federal and state health and safety regulations and ensures necessary records are maintained and prepared according to established guidelines. Additionally, Health and Safety Administrator participates in Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) inspections, providing inspectors with appropriate documents and identifying safety measures. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a supervisor. To be a Health and Safety Administrator typically requires 0-2 years of related experience. The Environmental and Safety (EHS) Specialist will be responsible for administrating and coordinating all of the plant safety and training programs including policies, legal requirements; organize and maintain all required documentation, investigate safety/environmental incidents, uphold and promote safe work rules, procedures and practices throughout the facility; champion continual improvement activities; ensures compliance with environmental and government safety regulations and industry standards and addresses any unsafe acts and conditions as required.
