Health and Safety Supervisor supervises the identification and remediation of hazardous workplace conditions. Oversees the measurement and sampling of hazardous materials, and any removal of physical, biological and chemical hazards. Being a Health and Safety Supervisor investigates, analyzes, and reports on any accidents or unsafe events and suggests remedial and preventative actions. Develops a safety conscious culture by providing workforce education on first aid, emergency/safety procedures and regulations. Additionally, Health and Safety Supervisor ensures all necessary records are maintained and are in compliance with all applicable federal and state health and safety regulations. Participates in Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) inspections, providing inspectors with appropriate documents and identifying safety measures. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a Manager. The Health and Safety Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. Your main duty is to ensure that the company is in compliance and adheres to L & I Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) guidelines to reduce work-related injuries. You will be responsible for facilitating compliance with these guidelines and your main goal will be to always ensure a safe working environment and help to prevent any incidents, injuries or accidents.
You will also be working directly with the food safety department to help ensure facility is following food safety policies and procedures, set forth by the USDA and FDA.
