Health and Safety Supervisor supervises the identification and remediation of hazardous workplace conditions. Oversees the measurement and sampling of hazardous materials, and any removal of physical, biological and chemical hazards. Being a Health and Safety Supervisor investigates, analyzes, and reports on any accidents or unsafe events and suggests remedial and preventative actions. Develops a safety conscious culture by providing workforce education on first aid, emergency/safety procedures and regulations. Additionally, Health and Safety Supervisor ensures all necessary records are maintained and are in compliance with all applicable federal and state health and safety regulations. Participates in Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) inspections, providing inspectors with appropriate documents and identifying safety measures. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a Manager. The Health and Safety Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Health and Safety Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     We are currently looking for an experienced environmental consultant with experience in Asbestos, Mold, and Lead.
    The ideal candidate will be up to date with licensing requirements, have at least 1 year of experience in the field, know the required equipment, and have a valid driver's license.

    Qualifications:
    Required:
    • Valid Driver's License; 
    • BS in Biology, Chemistry, or Environmental Science. 
    Preferred but not required:
    • At least 1 year of experience in Environmental Science;
    • State of CT Asbestos Inspector License;
    • State of CT Lead Inspector License.

    Responsibilities:
    • Field sampling, monitoring, and inspections at various project locations throughout the state;
    • Site analysis by phase contrast microscopy (PCM);
    • Maintain field sampling logs and notes;
    • Perform asbestos project monitoring work for hazardous building materials;
    • Attend ongoing training courses to ensure up-to-date licensing and keeps records for license renewal and health records;
    • Calibration of equipment including but not limited to, rotameters, microscope, and any other equipment needed;
    • Ability to work as part of a team;
    • Customer Service skills;
    • Available for on-call rotating schedule for emergency jobs.

    Salary is dependent on experience and licensing. We will train and license qualified candidates.
