Health Educator is responsible for developing and designing health education programs meant to increase community awareness and knowledge. Conducts needs assessments and keeps up-to-date on changes in health care technology to keep program material current. Being a Health Educator develops, coordinates, and disseminates educational resources and materials. May provide health education outreach and consultation. Additionally, Health Educator requires a bachelor's degree in a related area. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Health Educator work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project.     Education

    Minimum Bachelor's degree in related field (health education, adult fitness and health, adult teaching/education, nutrition, psychology, exercise physiology).

    Experience
    Prior experience in health education/health promotion preferred.

    Certification & Licensures
    Certification in group exercise strongly preferred

    Qualifications
    Ability to do word processing and data entry. Must be knowledgeable about providing services to male and female adults age 18 and over by assessing needs and accurately relating findings of assessment.
