Health Educator is responsible for developing and designing health education programs meant to increase community awareness and knowledge. Conducts needs assessments and keeps up-to-date on changes in health care technology to keep program material current. Being a Health Educator develops, coordinates, and disseminates educational resources and materials. May provide health education outreach and consultation. Additionally, Health Educator requires a bachelor's degree in a related area. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Health Educator work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project.     Unit Educator Responsibilities...

    Working closely with the Director of Education and the Nurse Manager, the Unit Educator identifies learning needs, implements education programs and evaluates outcomes to ensure competency. He/she serves as a mentor/consultant to staff in the utilization of the nursing process. The Unit Educator is a role model to staff in practice/process improvements.

    To qualify you must...

    BSN degree preferred.
    Current NH license as a professional registered nurse required.
    Three to five to years of experience in nursing and currently working full time at NRHN .
    Trained and recertified every two years in CPR. CPR instructor obtained within one year of employment.
