Health Informatics Director directs an organization's clinical biostatistics or health informatics department. Oversees the analysis, management and performance of health information data to aid patient care.     The Executive Director of the Wilson Health Foundation (WHF) will provide a catalyst for bringing together Wilson Health, the Wilson Health Foundation and community leaders in ways which continually expand and strengthen the philanthropic relationship between Wilson Health and the community and supports the Hospital’s plans to serve the community’s current and future healthcare needs.
     
    The Role You’ll Contribute:
    The WHF Executive Director is responsible (on behalf of the Foundation Board of Trustees) to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward potential new and existing donors for gifts. This will be achieved by fostering relationships through annual gift giving, donor prospect/research, community campaigns, special events and bequests.
    In this high energy, comprehensive role, the Executive Director will grow the hospital’s donor community and cultivate positive relationships with existing donors.  This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced non-profit Executive to be an influential change agent at an innovative high-quality hospital.
    The Executive Director will leverage their passion for philanthropy with their skills to lead development of shared vision and strategic plans that excite and enlist staff, Board, partners, donors and supporters. 
    The ideal candidate will be a dynamic, innovative, creative individual who is focused on strategy and operational excellence while cultivating new relationships and growing established partnerships. They will be a strong leader who can calmly navigate the rapidly changing landscape of healthcare philanthropy.
     
    The Value You’ll Bring to the Team:
    • In concert with appropriate Hospital and affiliate organization representatives, document and communicate institutional fundraising philosophy, goals, objectives, and needs on an annual and on-going basis to support WHF plans and strategies.
    • Develop short- and long-term Foundation operating plans designed to meet previously established WH and affiliate organizational philanthropic plans and needs. Report to Board and hospital representatives on programs and results of plans.
    • Represent the Foundation and WH in the cultivation and solicitation of key prospects, and in the identification, education, and recruitment of key volunteers. The Executive Director will take initiative in these activities, alone or in concert with WH representatives, Board members and other key staff and/or volunteers including physicians.
    • Oversee the identification, evaluation, cultivation, and solicitation of all potential sources of philanthropic support.
    • Serve as primary WH liaison to the Foundation Board, WH President and CEO, and other lay and staff persons in similar WH and affiliated organization leadership positions.
    • Hire, train, manage, and evaluate a high-quality, proactive professional staff and appropriate support personnel consistent with Foundation and WH mission, goals, and policies.
    • Organize and manage the Foundation office including establishment of policies, systems, procedures and preparation and supervision of the Foundation budget and report on same to hospital administration and Foundation Board.
    • Provide leadership and staff support to the Foundation Board and volunteers. This includes preparation of materials and volunteer training.
    • Design, implement, support, oversee and evaluate programs and other activities to identify, cultivate, reward, train and otherwise involve volunteers in the mission and activities of the Foundation.
    • Design, implement, support and oversee programs and activities to develop and manage planned/deferred gifts to WHF including establishing and maintaining positive relationships with estate planning professionals, including attorneys, trust officers and financial planners.
    • Review all internal and external requests to involve the Foundation/Hospital or their entities in fundraising and similar activities. Make recommendations regarding approval or disapproval or strategies for same to hospital administration and Foundation Board.
    • Develop, maintain and oversee Foundation donor records system.
    • Working collaboratively with the WH Public Relations and Marketing Departments, develop, implement, oversee, and evaluate programs and activities to communicate with and educate existing and potential donors, volunteers and others regarding the importance and benefits of philanthropic support of the Hospital/Foundation to the quality of life and health care of the people of Sidney, Shelby County and contiguous counties.
    • Organizes meetings, agendas, documents and orientation programs for the board. Assists in the retention and/or identification and recruitment of Board members.
    The Expertise and Experience You’ll Need to Succeed:
    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university, advanced degree preferred.
    • Minimum three years of philanthropy management experience.
    • A proven track record of leading a nonprofit as a visionary, strategist, and dynamic, result-oriented leader; growing operating budgets; leading organizational planning and implementing strategic initiatives; building programs; and developing donor centric fundraising, marketing and communications campaigns.
    • Capable of effectively and efficiently carrying out all responsibilities and assigned duties with minimal oversight.
    • Significant contacts with and ties to the Shelby County community as a resident, alumna/us, business owner, or employee preferred, but not required.
    • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, with demonstrated success in making persuasive appeals and presentations to individuals and/or groups at all levels.
    • Experience leading strategic planning processes and developing operational plans.
    • Experience creating and managing budgets using financial analysis, assessing and measuring results, and reporting to inform strategic decisions.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and assignments, meet tight deadlines, coordinate and communicate effectively in a fast-paced work environment.
    • Ability to leverage technology and systems to communicate and maximize efficiency.
