Town of Great Barrington Health Inspector
The Town of Great Barrington is actively seeking a qualified candidate to assume the role of Health Inspector. Reporting to the Health Agent, the Health Inspector is tasked with conducting public health inspections to guarantee adherence to state and local sanitary codes. Key responsibilities encompass routine inspections of over 130 Food Establishments in Great Barrington and Housatonic, addressing sanitary code and general complaints, enforcing local Board of Health regulations and health-related bylaws, and providing support to the Health Department under the guidance of the Health Agent.
The position requires:
A strong candidate has strong communication skills both orally and in writing, with the ability to prepare detailed reports dealing with inspection results and correction orders.
Compensation for this position is $25- $30.00 per hour, depending on experience, for up to 32 hours a week and includes benefits. This is a trainable position and all those with exuberance and interest for public health enforcement and local government should apply.
