Position: Director of Centralized System Access

Description:
The Director of Centralized Access will lead the establishment and management of a centralized intake, referral, scheduling, and resource center for LECOM's Behavioral Health service line. This center will serve as the primary access point for children and adults seeking behavioral health services in the LECOM Behavioral Health footprint.
The Director will oversee the development and implementation of efficient service delivery processes, ensuring seamless coordination between patients, providers, and community resources. This role requires a strategic leader who can work independently with minimal day-to-day oversight, collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners, and drive initiatives that enhance access to behavioral health services. The team will also help callers get connected with appropriate health insurance providers.
This position is grant-funded through September 2029. Continued employment is contingent upon the availability of funding and/or positions within the service line.
Responsibilities:
Lead the creation and implementation of a centralized intake, scheduling, and connection point on the referral pathway, through both phone and website chat.
Refine, create, and implement policies, procedures, and protocols for intake, assessment, referral, and scheduling processes.
Facilitate seamless connections for individuals seeking appropriate behavioral and developmental health services, internal and external resources, and ensuring efficient establishment of care.
Oversee daily operations of the center, ensuring service delivery meets the highest standards of efficiency, effectiveness and customer service in scheduling appointments, making referrals, and identifying patient resource needs.
Oversee the centralized scheduling phone line, online resource center, and chat services to ensure efficient patient access.
Recruit, train, and supervise a team of Patient Access Coordinators who assess needs, provide resources and connect clients with appropriate care and/or resources.
Ensure team members are knowledgeable about policies, procedures, and best practices.
Serve as a co-lead on the Systems and Stigmas team for Erie County Project LAUNCH, which will develop and implement a plan to improve coordination and collaboration across child and family-serving systems and programs and reduce services-seeking stigma within Erie County.
Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external service providers to enhance referral pathways, bolster resources for center callers, and ensure smooth transitions for patients.
Requirements:
A master?s degree in a health care related field with two (2) to three (3) years of supervisory experience
OR
A bachelor?s degree in a health care related field with five (5) years of supervisory experience will be considered in lieu of a master?s degree.

Able to communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing.
Strong analytical, problem solving, decision making and time management skills.
Ability to multi-task and appropriately prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment, with strong focus on attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to provide constructive feedback to staff.
Knowledge of children and adult mental health services within Erie County and surrounding region.
