Health Underwriting Director directs and oversees the health insurance underwriting program for individuals and/or groups for medical and/or dental insurance. Responsible for ensuring integrity of underwriting activities and processes. Being a Health Underwriting Director manages staff of underwriters at the organization. Provides assistance to underwriters on more complex applications. Additionally, Health Underwriting Director has a strong knowledge of the underwriting discipline. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Health Underwriting Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Health Underwriting Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. Job Summary:
PLUS is a growing international association advancing the interest of individuals / professionals in the professional liability insurance industry. To ensure PLUS is strategically serving its membership and professional liability industry, the Education Specialist will coordinate the development, scheduling, and hosting of Subject Matter Expert-led content in a variety of delivery methods, including webinars, podcasts, and national PLUS university programs. The Education Specialist will support the PLUS certificates and designations programs and other educational projects as needed. This is a full-time, 40 hours/week, exempt position.
