Being a Healthcare Service Line Director requires a bachelor's degree or its equivalent. Typically reports to top management. The Healthcare Service Line Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a Healthcare Service Line Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience.     Position Summary:


    The Regional Director is responsible for managing and directing the Hartford HealthCare Cancer Institute programs and services within the East Region which spans multiple campuses, covering both inpatient and outpatient services. The Regional Director leads and develops colleauges and directs regional initiatives to support Hartford HealthCare's vision and Cancer Institute goals, objectives and standards of care.

    Key Accountabilities:

    • Organize, plan, direct and evaluate complex care systems in collaboration with physicians and health care teams to insure continuous performance improvement for optimal patient care and outcomes
    • Continually evaluate existing programs and services and identify new program opportunities.
    • Participate in strategic, short range and long-range planning for the Cancer Institute
    • Develop goals and objectives for the region to support the Cancer Institute strategic plan.
    • Collaborate effectively with physician leadership to promote team-based care
    • Develop an annual operating budget. Provide timely and complete budget variance reports and develop countermeasures when performance is below budget
    • Assist in the development of Cancer Institute policies and procedures; support the implementation and enforcement of relevant policies and procedures; interpret approved policies and procedures to managers and staff
    • Ensure awareness of and adherence to hospital-wide and departmental policies

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in health care field required. Master's degree is strongly preferred
    • Five plus years of experience in the healthcare field
    • Two plus years of leadership experience
    • Cancer program management experience is preferred
    • Experience in effectively implementing organizational change initiatives at a system-level
    • Visible leader with excellent interpersonal communication skills who relates well with all levels of the organization
    • Highly effective analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills
    • Demonstrates exceptional communication and engagement skills in working within a large healthcare system
