This job involves installation, removal, and maintenance of construction signs, permanent signs, and roadway work, general vehicle maintenance, and working in our production yard to maintain construction signage. This job is a non-union position. A base hourly rate of $15.50 per hour will apply, but this is a position where various prevailing wage rates will apply depending on the job being performed, so wage will vary upwards from the $15.50 per hour. This job requires daytime (and occasionally overnight) travel, and hours will vary (sometimes night or weekend work may be required). Training is available. Only candidates with some degree of related experience will be considered.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for work zone safety while in the field
• Delivery, installation, maintenance, and removal of temporary traffic control devices at job sites, such as signs, cones, barricades, arrow boards, TMAs, and VMS equipment
• Working with and reporting to the projects coordinator
• Working in production yard at main facility maintaining signage and equipment when on-the-road work is unavailable
• Long distance driving and obeying and following applicable traffic laws
• Loading and unloading installation materials for jobs onto trucks, ensuring the safety of goods
• Maintain and service some production machinery and traffic safety rental equipment such as arrow boards, message boards and paint machines
• Carry out basic quality and testing equipment checks
• Maintain work areas and equipment
• Use forklift trucks to fulfill orders

Skills and Qualifications

• Valid driver's license with ability to pass license check
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must be a motivated, self-starter who is able to perform tasks individually when required
• Initial and random drug tests are required as this is a safety sensitive position
• Ability to read and comprehend prints/diagrams and apply standardized principles and regulations to real time situations
• Ability to safely operate a service vehicle and lift up to 50lb of equipment
• Ability to work in all weather conditions
• An awareness of the occupational hazards associated with roadway work
• Relevant work experience a plus but not required
• Hand-eye coordination, since must coordinate hands, legs and eyes to maintain a fast reaction time on the roads
