Requires an associate degree in biology, related science, or equivalent. Typically requires completion of an accredited histotechnology program. Requires ASCP Histotechnician certification (HT). About the Opportunity
The Histology Technician at Covenant Pathology Services is responsible for meeting all outlined responsibilities established by the Supervisor and Assistant Manager of Laboratory Services. This includes the preparation of tissue specimens for microscopic evaluation by pathologists, encompassing surgical, research, and outside cases. Ensuring the quality of tissue slides through adherence to technical and quality control procedures is paramount, alongside maintaining work area equipment and supplies. Specialized techniques such as special stains are performed as required. Safety regulations are diligently monitored to uphold compliance, while also indirectly overseeing laboratory assistants. Additionally, participation in training other lab personnel may be required.
