Being a Hoist and Winch Operator may have to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty with 0-2 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Additionally, Hoist and Winch Operator relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced buck hoist operator to join our team. As a Buck Hoist Operator, you will be responsible for operating buck hoists and other heavy equipment to lift, move, and position materials and equipment on construction sites. Your expertise in buck hoist operation and knowledge of safety protocols will be essential in ensuring the efficient and safe completion of projects.
This is a 7 month long project and is expected to last through November, 2024
Requirements:
-Posession of state and federal hoisting certification
-Have adequate visual accuity to see and and accurately interpret position indications.
-Be able to passs random drug testing, including marijuana.
-Be physically capable of completing job tasks, including lifting 50 lbs.
-Maintain safety at all times
-Have 4 years of experience operating buck hoists in the state Michigan
Duties:
- Operate buck hoists-up to 19 stories high
- Lift, move, and position heavy materials
- Follow safety procedures and protocols to ensure the safe operation of the buck hoist
- Inspect the buck hoist before each use to ensure it is in proper working condition
- Perform routine maintenance on the buck hoist to keep it in optimal condition
- Communicate with team members to coordinate lifts and ensure efficient workflow
- Adhere to project timelines and deadlines
- Maintain accurate records of buck hoist, including lift logs and maintenance records
Experience:
- 4 Previous experience operating buck hoists in a construction setting
- Knowledge of construction site processes
- Proficiency in operating buck hoists
- Mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor issues with the buck hoist
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and lift plans
Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and focus on safety
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness
- Ability to work well under pressure and make quick decisions
- Effective communication skills to coordinate lifts with team members
- Physical stamina to withstand long hours of standing, lifting, and operating heavy equipment
