Hospice Director directs, supervises, and governs the hospice program including inpatient care, home care and bereavement follow-up. Administers and maintains quality assurance, environmental, and infection control policies in accordance with facility objectives. Being a Hospice Director prepares reports for hospital administration on activities of the facility operation. Develops hospice related educational and informational programs. Additionally, Hospice Director requires a bachelor's degree of nursing. Typically reports to top management. The Hospice Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. To be a Hospice Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Delaware Hospice is actively seeking a full-time Hospice Clinical Operations Leader to supervise staff in Chester and Delaware Counties, Pennsylvania.The Associate Director is responsible for oversight and management of all clinical team services within Chester and Delaware Counties. Supervises IDT staff. This is an exempt position.Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in nursing. Master’s in nursing of management/administration preferred. (Must be clinically licensed in PA and DE). Certification in hospice nursing preferred. Proven ability to motivate staff to achieve goals; ability to problem solve. Minimum of five years of nursing practice; or other healthcare clinical role with demonstrated clinical skills and at least one year in hospice or home care. At least two years nursing management experience preferred.
- Delaware Hospice nurses may care for pediatric patients.
- We offer specialized training and orientation for nurses who wish to be part of the Katybug team.
- Our Katybug program specializes in helping kids from perinatal to young adult, find relief from pain and symptoms in their own home, while offering families the practical resources and emotional support they need to cope.
You will be part of an entire team of highly qualified, caring individuals assists with the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of you and your loved ones. The dedicated Delaware Hospice team includes:- Medical Director: Consults with the primary physician, oversees the care plan, and, if necessary, may serve as the attending physician.
- Registered Nurse: Acts as the primary point of contact, conducts weekly medical assessments, manages the patient's care plan, lets the family/caregiver know what to expect, and answers all questions.
- Certified Nursing Assistant: Provides personal care to the patient and keeps the family/caregiver informed and advised.
- Social Worker: Provides emotional care and supports the needs of the whole family.
- Chaplain: Offers spiritual direction and prayer.
- Adult and Child Bereavement Counselor: Provides grief support.
- Volunteers: Offer companionship and encouragement.
