About the Position
The Director of Patient Care Services (DPCS) is responsible for the overall direction of hospice clinical services. The DPCS establishes, implements, and evaluates goals and objectives for hospice services that meet and promote the standards of quality and contribute to the total organization and philosophy.

The ideal candidate will have knowledge and skill in caring for the terminally ill. We are seeking someone who is compassionate with excellent interpersonal skills, and who possesses a thorough understanding of hospice philosophy and care. This person will have the ability to educate families, provide care aligned with patients’ values, and provide support for patients and families. Additionally, this person will have the ability to direct and manage a multi-disciplinary team with strong organizational, planning, problem-solving, decision-making, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities (includes but are not limited to)

• Coordinates and oversees all direct and indirect patient services provided by clinical organization personnel.
• Provides guidance and counseling to RN Case Managers to assist them in continually improving all aspect of hospice care services, provided through organization personnel.
• Operate organizations clinical supply and clinical labor budget
• Interprets operational indicators to detect census changes and increases or decreases in volume that could impact staffing levels, revenues or expenses.
• Oversees the evaluation of organization performance via quality assessment performance improvement program, productivity, quarterly and annual reviews. Assures for the quality and safe delivery of hospice services provided through the Organization.
• Assures compliance with all local, state and federal laws regarding licensure and certification of organization personnel and, maintains compliance to the Joint Commission Home Care standards.
• Promotes hospice referrals in the health care community.

Qualifications and Skills

• Two years of experience working at a hospice agency. At least one year of which is in a supervisory or administrative capacity
• Able to supervise and evaluate staff
• Able to make effective decisions under time pressure
• Excellent verbal/written communication skills
• Able to pass a required background check and drug screen
• Must possess a current RN License & CPR certification
• Must comply with health screening and immunization requirements
• Must have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation source, and proof of auto insurance.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $115,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year
