Hospital Staffing Coordinator coordinates scheduling and staffing to ensure sufficient staff coverage for all shifts within a healthcare facility. Works with clinical and administrative departments to project staffing needs and achieve required staffing levels. Being a Hospital Staffing Coordinator utilizes and maintains staffing scheduling software/programs to schedule shifts, monitor staffing levels, and input related data. May perform other administrative functions as necessary. Additionally, Hospital Staffing Coordinator may be responsible for recruiting new staff. Typically requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Hospital Staffing Coordinator works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. 1. Maintain a current listing of all resident care employee phone numbers.
2. Maintain daily tardy and absenteeism logs, pull reports as needed.
3. Complete in timely fashion necessary nursing department employee records upon hiring, job reclassification and discharge.
4. Track CEU’s for C.N.A’s on an annual basis.
5. Assist employees in accurate completion of forms (i.e., leave and day off requests, time cards, etc.) pertinent to scheduling and staffing.
6. Complete monthly nursing schedule coordinating requests to ensure appropriate coverage of units.
7. Report to Vice President of Nursing Services all employees with excess tardiness or absenteeism in accordance with facility policy.
8. Work with Human Resource Director and Vice President of Nursing Services when scheduling modified work duty employees in accordance with work restrictions and facility policy.
9. Complete and post work sheets/time schedules. Coordinate variances with the Vice President of Nursing Services.
10. Maintain Nursing Payroll/ATTS system.
11. Assist in completion and filing of designated reports in accordance with established policies and procedures.
12. Perform miscellaneous duties pertaining to staffing and assist nursing supervisory personnel as necessary.
13. Answer employee calls regarding staffing/scheduling functions. Prepare written correspondence as necessary.
14. Answer applicant calls regarding position availability and coordinate and conduct C.N.A. interviews as deemed appropriate.
15. Ensure newly hired nursing staff has time cards and schedules prior to orientation date.
16. Must maintain the confidentiality of all resident care information including protected health information. Report known or suspected incidents of unauthorized disclosure of such information; and adhere to Resident’s rights.
17. Performs other work related duties as assigned or requested.
