    Provides overall leadership, supervision and direction on shift operations in order to consistently meet or exceed the guest experience. The purpose of the Front Office Manager is to ensure smooth operations of the hotel by having direct responsibility for front office and hospitality staff, including scheduling and ensuring guest satisfaction is a priority and maintained in accordance with hotel standards.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Hire, train, coach, counsel, and discipline front desk & bell staff
    • Sets PACE & TONE for the shift. Motivates staff to achieve results.
    • Recognizes employee strengths and opportunities to craft developmental lessons. Takes ownership and responsibility for development of staff through communication, documentation, and evaluation.
    • Maintains a positive working relationship with all company team members, fostering and promoting cooperative, harmonious work environment keeping morale, productivity, and efficiency high.
    • Provides motivation to team through active learning. Develops a strong teamwork environment.
    • Conducts meetings shiftily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, or annually as expected to facilitate communication and create synergy.
    • Builds rapport with all team members through active listening and problem solving skills.
    • Holds self to a higher standard, being a role model at all times.
    • Oversee the front desk staff to ensure daily operations run smoothly and successfully
    • Respond to, accommodate, and/or resolve all guests’ requests and concerns in accordance with standards of front desk operating procedures and policies
    • Interact with guests to ensure their satisfaction
    • Coordinate room assignment for VIP guests with casino staff
    • Staff departments according to Riverwind Hotel LLC’s staffing guidelines
    • Foster teamwork throughout other departments
    • Participate in solving problems with other departments as required related to business booked in the hotel including space conflicts and cancellations
    • Make reasonable decisions regarding the operations of the hotel in the Sales Director and General Manager’s absence
    • Assist in coordinating various aspect of group bookings; pertaining but not limited to check-in, check-out, meeting room preparation and take down
    • Ensure all standards and policies are practiced
    • Ensure accurate record keeping of all files and accounts
    • Ensure all necessary supplies are available to the departments
    • Administer key control
    • Available to work on-call and accessible via cell phone at all times unless otherwise excused

    OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    NOTE: These include, but are not limited to the following (additional responsibilities may be assigned as necessary):

    • Organize and attend weekly front office staff meetings
    • Attend weekly management meetings
    • Assist the hotel in oversell situations
    • Ensure all necessary supplies are available to the departments
    • Help with room setup, empty trash, etc.
    • Assist other departments as needed or assigned
    • Run outside errands to pick up items as needed
    • Develop and maintain rapport with other Riverwind Hotel and casino staff
    • Work and communicate with departments to ensure the smooth operation of hotel
    • Assist with the organization of renovations
    • Maintain an image of professionalism and competence to guests, clients and hotel personnel at all times
    • Work front desk and hospitality shifts as needed

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS (INCLUDES EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE):

    § Must be 18 years of age or older

    § Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership techniques, production methods, and coordination of people and resources

    § Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, banking, and the analysis and reporting of financial data

    § Excellent oral and written communication skills

    § Expert computer skills, ability to compose and create reports, letters, memos, and procedures

    § Mature judgment and professionalism in handling all matters

    § Required knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as managing files and records and other office processes, procedures, and terminology

    § Ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing

    § Excellent math skills

    § Excellent organization and problem-solving skills

    § Knowledge of InfoGenesis software recommended, but not required

    Types of decisions this employee is authorized to make:

    • Refund guests as deemed necessary
    • Act in the best interest of the hotel in the Sales Director and General Manager’s absence

    Types of decisions that this employee should seek approval before implementing:

    § Overspending the budget

    § Ordering supplies from a vendor

    § Signing vendor contracts

    § Writing petty cash checks

    § Termination of employment for any member of the staff

    § Any other decisions outside normal practice guidelines


    WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:

    • Reaches, bends, stoops, lifts, carries, and pushes.
    • Lifts/carries supplies and cases, weighing up to 50 lbs.
    • Essential hand/eye coordination

    § Work is normally performed in a typical interior hotel, restaurant/bar/casino work environment

    § Noise level is moderate to high

    § Limited exposure to physical risk

    § Moderate physical effort required
