The HR Business Partner (HRBP) at UNC Health Appalachian plays a pivotal role in aligning human resources strategies and initiatives with the organization’s goals. The HRBP acts as a trusted advisor to management and staff, providing expert guidance and support in various HR functions including talent management, employee relations, performance management, and organizational development. This position requires a deep understanding of the healthcare environment and the ability to drive HR processes that foster a positive work culture and enhance organizational performance. Key responsibilities inlcude:

Strategic Partnership:
- Collaborate with department leaders to understand business goals and develop HR strategies that support the achievement of those goals.
- Provide HR expertise in the areas of workforce planning, organizational design, and change management.

Employee Relations:
- Serve as a point of contact for employees and managers regarding HR policies, procedures, and employment laws.
- Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues, conducting thorough investigations and making recommendations.

Talent Management:
- Oversee recruitment and selection processes to ensure the attraction and retention of top talent.
- Develop and implement strategies for employee development, succession planning, and career progression.

Performance Management:
- Guide managers in the performance management process, including setting objectives, conducting evaluations, and providing constructive feedback.
- Address performance issues promptly and effectively, ensuring fair and consistent application of policies.

Training and Development:
- Identify training needs and partner with Learning and Development to design and deliver training programs.
- Promote continuous learning and development opportunities to enhance employee skills and competencies.

Compensation and Benefits:
- Collaborate with the compensation and benefits team to ensure competitive and equitable pay practices.
- Assist in the administration of benefits programs and provide guidance on compensation-related issues.

HR Metrics and Reporting:
- Utilize HR metrics to analyze trends and develop proactive solutions for workforce challenges.
- Prepare and present reports on HR activities and outcomes to senior management.

Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Stay informed of changes in HR legislation and best practices, and implement necessary updates to policies and procedures.
Compensation is commensurate with education and experience. Hiring gross salary ranges from $66,560-$96,512.00 annually. This position is in-person, exempt, and eligible for benefits after a 60-day waiting period.
