Senior HR Business Partner - Labor Relations

    The Senior HR Business Partner serves as an organizational resource for all internal employees, with a focus on labor relations.  SHRBP Must have minimum 5 to 8 years labor relations experience including responsibility for the grievance, arbitration process and contract negotiations.   Will work with conjunction with outside labor attorney representing PCHC at the negotiations table in 2025. 

    Ensures union contract adherence.  Trains management team members in labor management.  Advises management on union disciplinary action matters.  Must possess labor law education and demonstrated knowledge of advanced labor relations principles.  Excellent written,  verbal communication and negotiating skills.  Requires exceptional organizational skills ensuring grievance timelines are adhered.  Healthcare experience is preferred. 

    Responsibilities:

    • Develops and maintains working knowledge of all aspects of HR, including employee and labor relations, recruitment, benefits, compensation, training, and HRIS
    • Performs site visits to introduce new products, services, and technologies.
    • Promotes HR products and services to fulfill ongoing employee requests.
    • Follows through on requests from employees, management and leadership.
    • Gathers and maintains employee demographic data.
    • Works with Training and Development to recommend, coordinate, and deliver training programs to management and their employees.
    • Builds strong employee relationships and provides quality service in an effort to retain employee base
    • Informs and educates employees about Human Resources policies and procedures
    • Works with HR leadership to develop appropriate strategies for employees regarding employee relations, disciplinary action, operations and performance issues.
    • Assists employees with resolution of issues pertaining to leaves of absence, workers compensation, and disability accommodations.
    • Maintains knowledge of trends and changes in Human Resources legislation, and conveys local, state, and federal laws to employees to maintain compliance.
    • Recruitment of all non-exempt roles
    • Participates in annual open enrollment meetings for employees.
    • Understands details of benefit and insurance plans.
    • Partners with leadership to ensure employee satisfaction.

    Qualifications: 

    • Demonstrated expertise in developing and implementing both proactive and reactive employee relations strategy and plans in close collaboration with operations leadership. 
    • Knowledge of regulatory laws that affect employment, including understanding of ADA, FMLA, and Title VII/Civil Rights Act. 
    • Knowledge of procedures used to investigate and resolve employee grievances. 
    • Knowledge of the broad range of relationships that could impact the employee/employer relationship. This includes knowledge of federal and state laws, company policies, practices and ethical obligations to investigate, evaluate, and recommend an appropriate resolution to employee complaints. 
    • A willingness to act swiftly  
    • Effective communicator with strong presentation skills 
    • Negotiation skills; results-oriented 
    • Ability to deal tactfully and persuasively 
    • Excellent written and oral presentation skills
    • Minimum of five years of progressive HR Business Partner experience, including recruitment, labor and employee relations 
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and manage relationships and to work collaboratively
    • Proficient skills in the suite of Microsoft Office
    • BS/BA required, Masters or equivalent degree is preferred
    • Self Starter 
    • 5-8 years of experience in labor negotiations 
    • Demonstrated experience writing MOU’s/ MOA’s.
