Human Capital Intern
Salary: This
is an unpaid/volunteer internship, however, class credit is available,
depending on your school’s guidelines.

Start Date: Start
and end dates are negotiable. This position will not exceed 17 weeks of
work.
Hours: Approximately
8-15 hours per week, preferably two to three times per week in the office.
Specific hours negotiable depending on class schedules.
Position Overview
This internship is an excellent opportunity to experience various
aspects of a human capital department, particularly talent acquisition, while
working for a nonprofit organization. The internship can be designed to focus
on one category, or multiple, depending on the skills and interests of the
candidate and organizational needs. As
part of our team, you will learn how to identify talent pipeline partnership
opportunities, how to plan events, how to build relationships across the
organization to develop content for internal and external communications and
how to create compelling content that aligns with business goals and will be
shared by influencers. Interns will acquire valuable resume-building
experience, put into practice the skills learned in class, use their creativity
to develop persuasive communication materials and earn internship credits.
Core Responsibilities
Sourcing

Assist in identifying talent
pipeline partnership opportunities

Assist in specific high-needs
searches

Perform research and market analysis
activities, contribute ideas on new trends, online outlets and/or apps that can
improve the reach of messages
Event Planning

Assist in planning network-hosted
career fair(s) (virtual and/or in-person)
·
Assist in event materials
preparation
Content Creation
·
Assist with writing staff profiles
·
Assist in drafting recruitment
outreach copy
· Assist with drafting, editing and proofreading documents, maintaining spreadsheets, researching, gathering and analyzing data for reporting purposes
· Assist in other human capital
projects and tasks as needed

Physical
Demands
Nature of work requires an
ability to operate standard business office equipment. Requires
ability to communicate and exchange information, collect, compile and prepare
work documents, set-up and maintain work files. Physical demands
require the ability to stand, bend, reach high and low, stoop, and walk around
up to 60% of the day. In addition, walking up and down stairs
several times a day. Must be able to lift 15 to 20 pounds for short
periods of time and push and pull 15 to 20 lbs.
Working
Conditions
Majority of work performed
in a general office environment. Position requires availability for
extended hours plus non-traditional hours required to perform job
duties. Also requires participation and attendance at
organization-sponsored events and meetings.
