Summary:
The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for providing clerical and administrative support of some or all the functional areas of human resources, including recruitment, on-boarding, training and development, benefits, performance management, compliance, HRIS and record maintenance.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Assist with recruitment and interview process, manage internal/external job postings, coordinate and schedule interviews; track status of candidates; conduct pre-hire background screening.
- Assist with tracking and managing temporary employees; coordinate new hires and terminations with staffing agencies.
- Assist with the creation and revision of job descriptions as necessary.
- Assist with benefits administration, including monitoring of employee eligibility for benefit plans; annual open enrollment communication and election process.
- Conduct or assist with onboarding process; administer new hire paperwork, educate new hires on compliance and benefits; provide ongoing customer service by answering employee requests and questions.
- Assist with training and development activities; maintain and update employee training records, and training matrixes.
- Ensure compliance with USCIS Form I-9 Employment Eligibility Verifications.
- Administer employee leaves of absence (e.g., FMLA); complete all necessary forms and documentation; maintain appropriate recordkeeping logs.
- Maintain employee personnel files to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Assist with processing of terminations and off-boarding process.
- Assist with establishing departmental measurements that support the accomplishment of the company’s strategic goals.
- Assist with planning and execution of company events such as benefits open enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, retirement celebrations, and related activities.
- Update job knowledge by participating in professional opportunities; attend seminars and review literature to stay abreast of state and federal employment laws.
- Adhere to EMS and IATF 16949 Policies and Procedures.
- Perform all other related duties as assigned by the manager.
Must Haves (Basic Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field.
- Minimum 2 years of human resources experience.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be detail-oriented and thorough.
- Must demonstrate a high level of confidentiality.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- General knowledge of employment laws and practices.
- Must have the ability to meet time-sensitive deadlines and prioritize assignments.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English proficiently.
- Must be proficient with computers and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Proficient with or the ability to learn Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) and related software.
Nice to Haves (Preferred Qualifications):
- Master’s Degree.
- PHR or SHRM-CP Certification is preferred, but not required.
- Bilingual in Spanish.
- Workday HRIS experience.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment highly preferred.
