Human Services Worker provides assistance to individuals with disabilities or who need assistance with daily tasks. Provides training in life skills. Essential functions of this position include but are not limited to: driving; sitting for computer entry, typing, answering telephones, etc; working with and around other staff, administration, inmates and citizens, etc; dealing with interruptions; repetitive motion (hand / wrist) for computer and phone work; vision acuity (near / far); hearing and speech for ordinary conversation; touch and finger dexterity for using radios, intercoms, telephones and computers.
Four years of experience of progressively responsible experience in social services work OR
Associate degree in a related field working with children and families and three years of experience of progressively responsible experience in social services work OR
Bachelor's degree in a related field working with children and families and two years of experience of progressively responsible experience in social services work OR
Any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
Preferred Qualifications: Work experience in social services, health education, public health, Community Health Worker, Home Visitor, or similar work-related experience OR, any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position. Bilingual language skills in Navajo/English.
The ideal candidate will have an Associate's degree or is studying in a field related to working with children and families or public health, some experience providing services to children and families, and can demonstrate the ability to understand and speak Navajo. The ideal candidate also has experience establishing trusting relationships and working with diverse populations.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: This position requirements fingerprint clearance.
Must obtain an Arizona driver's license by date of hire and maintain it throughout employment. Final job offer will be contingent upon a satisfactory 5-year Arizona Motor Vehicle Report.
