    The Town of Antrim (approx. pop 2,700) is accepting applications for the position of a part-time Town Administrator. With a traditional town meeting form of government and reporting to a three-member Board of Selectmen, the Town Administrator manages an annual operating budget of $4.6 million. The Town Administrator acts as the Chief Administrative Officer for the Select Board and implements the orders and policies of the Board in accordance with all laws and Town rules, regulations, ordinances, policies, and procedures.

    The Town of Antrim employs a part-time Deputy Town Administrator to assist the Town Administrator with the day-to-day operations and advances the goals of the Select Board as directed, particularly in areas requiring coordination/collaboration between departments.

    Summary of Duties

    • Oversees all purchasing, including the drafting of specifications and recommending the awarding of bids. Monitors all department budgets and the overall budget to avoid over expenditures. Manages financial affairs of the Town, including money management. Assures that audit recommendations are implemented.
    • Develop and manage budgets for departmental projects and events.
    • Communicate effectively with team members and external partners.
    • Assist in human resources functions including recruitment, onboarding, and employee relations.
    • Communicates the Town’s priorities to residents, business leaders, state and federal representatives; responds to inquiries and promotes education and understanding of Town government, projects and programs.
    • Coordinate office management tasks to ensure a productive work environment.
    • Attends numerous meetings, including those of the Select Board; prepares the agenda and gathers pertinent supporting data for same. Represents the Town at events and at outside activities.
    • Perform clerical duties such as answering phones, responding to emails, and maintaining office supplies.
    • Coordinates legal issues with the Town Counsel, including notifying insurance carriers. Advises the Select Board of legal ramifications.
    • Plans, organizes, assigns, supervises, and coordinates the work of professional and technical consultants.

    Requirements

    • A minimum of 5 years of demonstrated municipal management experience.
    • Proficient knowledge and experience in budgeting processes and financial management, grant writing and implementation, human resources, planning, policy management and project management.
    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
    • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
    • Familiarity with payroll systems and human resources practices is preferred.
    • Experience in office management and event planning is a plus.
    • Strong phone etiquette and customer service skills.
    • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
