The ideal Industrial Engineer Intern (IE) has a basic understanding of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies, has been exposed to VSM, Workplace organization 6S, Cycle time, Takt time, and Time studies. Has the ability to create production layouts, define and improve processes, increase productivity, estimate production costs, evaluate make vs buy decisions, evaluate capital equipment needs, and provide justification for capital purchases. Also has a general understanding of the operational flow of ERP (preferably Infor Visual ERP), can apply the knowledge to develop and maintain the Part Masters, Bill of Materials (BOM), routings, and corresponding modules that capture and improve the production processes with the required granularity. They will participate and lead in product life cycle maintenance across multiple product lines.
