Are you an energetic, positive individual looking for a rewarding career that changes a child’s life? The Merit School of Doc Stone is a recognized leader in early childhood education, is seeking experienced Teachers for our Infant program in our schools in Stafford County, Virginia.

As a Teacher you must have a passion for the field of learning and for helping young children. Our teachers support growth and development through singing, reading, playing, and sharing quiet moments throughout the day. Candidates MUST have six (6) months of group care experience in a licensed facility.

Specific duties include but are not limited to the following:

• Be committed to helping continue to set the standard for high quality child care at every level.
• Meet the individual needs of the children.
• Work closely with the lead teacher to implement developmentally appropriate activities.
• Implement lesson plans created by the lead teacher.
• Participate in staff trainings and required teacher trainings.
• Establish positive and effective communication and relationships with families.
• Interact with all children to support play, exploration and learning.
• Be able to communicate effectively with center director(s).
• Establish and maintain a safe, healthy, loving, and nurturing environment for all children.
• Be able to lift 50 pounds.
• Other duties assigned.

Education (Must have one of the following):

• Current CDA; OR
• Current and active enrollment in an accredited Associates or Bachelor’s degree program; OR
• High School Diploma or Equivalent

Required Experience:

• Demonstrated knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
