SUMMARY: If you are a creative and dedicated person who would like the opportunity to contribute to a positive classroom and make an impact on our children and community, this position might be for you! Working with children between the ages of 6 weeks and 12 years (depending on classroom assignment). Teachers maintain safe supervision and sanitary practices at all times, and promote the development of children according to Childcare licensing standards as well as the standards of the Child Development Center (CDC). Wage Range: $17.00 - $19.00
Education & Knowledge:
Teacher II
Wage Range: $19.00 -$22.00
Education & Knowledge:
Teacher III
Wage Range: $22.00 - $25.00
Education & Knowledge:
Teacher IV
Wage Range: $26.00 - $29.00

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to walk, crouch, sit, talk, see and hear. Employees for this position are also required to be able to repetitively lift up to forty pounds to perform the daily functions of the job or maintain child safety. Work Environment
The work environment is a busy setting with occasional interruptions occurring, including visits from children, parents & staff. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work outside in daily weather conditions with children. The noise level in the work environment is sometimes loud. The priority of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Alaska is the physical and emotional safety of its members, staff and volunteers. We maintain a zero-tolerance policy for child abuse, and implement strict policies and procedures for members, employees, volunteers, visitors or victims of abuse or misconduct to report any suspicion or allegation of abuse. In addition, we train all adults within our Clubs on the responsibilities of Mandated Reporting, red-flag behaviors, and to report any behavior that is prohibited within our policies, including one to one contact between a child and adult, any unwanted or otherwise prohibited physical contact, and other inappropriate activities that are not considered professional. All employees and volunteers are required to cooperate with any investigation of abuse, and must have the ability to pass all local, state, national and international background checks before they are eligible for hire, and each year thereafter.
