POSITION SUMMARY
Under general supervision of the Manager, the Health Information Management Lead will act as a Team Leader for the assigned shift. The function of the Health Information Management lead is to support the Health Information Management department in the daily operations while managing and maintaining all aspects of the electronic health record, medical records and transcription services. They will work cooperatively with all HIM staff, physicians, and internal and external customers.

Education: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Required Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management or a similar field, preferred
Experience: 2 year of experience working in health information management or clinical/medical environment is required. Transcription experience is preferred. Experience working within an Electronic Medical/Health Record System is preferred. Working knowledge of medical records, chart completion, HIPAA and records management.
Computer Skills: Must be computer literate. Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Certifications & Licenses: Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA)
Certification preferred.
