Collaborates with end users to diagnose and resolve technical issues across different systems and technologies, including hardware, software, and networks. Being an INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY GENERALIST analyzes business needs and contributes to the selection of IT hardware and software to support internal business processes. Maintains detailed documentation of methodologies, processes, and specifications of an organization's IT systems and assists with the planning and scheduling of IT initiatives. Additionally, INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY GENERALIST installs and configures an organization's network infrastructure including LANs, WANs, and wireless networks and monitors network performance. Implements basic security measures to protect systems, networks, and data and ensures backup strategies and recovery plans are up to date. Requires a bachelor's degree. REPORTS TO: INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY OFFICER
The employee will provide front-line primary technical support to end users on various technical issues and problems relating to hardware, software, and peripherals.
They will be responsible for responding to, documenting, and resolving service issues in a timely manner. The Administrator must have excellent problem-solving skills to diagnose, evaluate and resolve complex problem situations, or when appropriate, escalate or route them to appropriate IT staff members, vendors, or contract technical engineers.
They will perform root cause analysis, develop checklists for typical problems and recommend procedures and controls for problem prevention. This position may require independent work, sharing information and assisting others with technical recommendations. Technical and/or elevated priority issues may result in occasional extended hours and after-hour tasks.
