Job Summary

The Information Technology (IT) Support Technician performs a variety of technical duties involved in the installation, configuration, maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair of computer hardware, software, systems, and network-connected and multimedia peripherals.

Requirements / Qualifications

Job-related education and experience which demonstrates the knowledge and ability necessary to perform the essential job duties. Typical qualifying education and experience would include graduation from high school or equivalent supplemented by technical courses and a minimum of one year of technical support work experience.

Comments and Other Information

Examination process: Completed applications are reviewed and candidates who meet the minimum qualifications participate in the following examinations: multiple choice exam weighted at 30%,  Qualifications Appraisal Interview weighted at 70%.

The competitive basis for this recruitment is Open/Promotional - Dual Certification. Candidates who pass all exams are placed on an eligibility list in order of overall exam score. The list is used to fill current and future vacancies for six months.

If a candidate has taken the multiple choice and/or performance test for this San Dieguito Union High School District job title or similar job title within the past two years, the candidate may be able to transfer the scores to this recruitment. The exam must be sufficiently similar, as determined by the Director, Classified Personnel. Prior to the application deadline, a request to transfer score(s) should be e-mailed to: barbara.bass@sduhsd.net. Transferring of exam scores does not apply to the Qualifications Appraisal Interview.
