The Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation &Reentry (ADCRR) is seeking to fill the Systems/Network Manager position. This position will play a critical role in redesigning the entire network and system platform for the ADCRR. This includes assessing ADCRR’s Active Directory (AD) to identify potential vulnerabilities, configuration issues, and compliance gaps to orchestrate or redesign ADCRR’s AD based on Microsoft best practices. This role extends beyond execution to strategic planning and alignment with agency and Information Technology (IT) objectives.
- Conducts comprehensive assessments of the existing infrastructure, including Infrastructure Architecture, Active Directory, and database solutions
- Implements network segmentation strategies to ensure continuous functionality across all complexes, even during network failures
- Develops mechanisms to isolate infected units from the network, enhancing overall security
- Leads the migration of database solutions to new cloud platforms, ensuring seamless integration with both Windows and Linux environments
- Collaborates with relevant teams to design and implement robust cloud-based solutions
- Ensures compatibility and interoperability between on-premises and cloud infrastructure components
- Conduct environmental assessments to bridge the gap between current infrastructure and future needs
- Develops strategic plans for infrastructure development that support scalability, security, and performance optimization
- Aligns infrastructure initiatives with organizational goals and Information Technology (IT) objectives, ensuring strategic alignment across the enterprise
- Guides infrastructure projects from initiation to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards
- Manages resources effectively, including coordinating with IT teams and external vendors as necessary
- Communicates project updates, risks, and dependencies to stakeholders, facilitating alignment with organizational priorities
- Develops and maintains a technology roadmap for infrastructure enhancements, aligning with the agency's long-term objectives
- Stays informed about emerging technologies and industry trends, integrating relevant innovations into the infrastructure roadmap
- Drives on State business
- Performs other duties appropriate to the assignment
Knowledge of:
- Technical concepts
- Network architecture, infrastructure design principles, and cloud computing concepts
- Active Directory structures, database solutions, and Microsoft best practices for infrastructure management and security
- Industry standards and protocols relevant to infrastructure components and network segmentation are necessary
Skill in:
- Effective project management
- Leading infrastructure projects from initiation to completion, including planning, resource allocation, and risk management
- Managing multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery of project milestones
- Communication and collaboration to effectively interact with IT teams, stakeholders, and senior management

Ability to:

- Translate strategic objectives into actionable plans and initiatives
- Be customer focused for understanding the needs and priorities of internal and external stakeholders
- Align infrastructure initiatives with customer requirements and deliver high-quality services
- Have proactive engagement with stakeholders to gather feedback, address concerns, and foster positive relationships is fundamental
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a relevant field
- Plus ten (10) or more years of experience in network architecture, cybersecurity, cloud computing, system integration, systems engineering, systems architecture, and systems design (or equivalent experience)
Employment is contingent on the selected applicant passing a background investigation.
If this position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job, then the following requirements apply. Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver’s license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver’s license record checks. The license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R2-10-207.11).

Positions in this classification participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS). Enrollment eligibility will become effective after 27 weeks of employment.
