Injection Molding Machine Operator jobs in Washington, DC

The Set-Up Technician is responsible for performing high quality changeovers on plastic injection molding machines.  To execute high quality changeovers, the Technician will safely and accurately operate overhead cranes, transfer carts, and molding machines.  Executing accurate changeovers requires compliance to standard processes and work instructions to validate molds are ready for installation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Complete mold installation and removal on all injection molding machines: size range 180T to 3200T
• Read and execute water diagrams, heater diagrams, and instructions for effective changes
• Prepare molds for upcoming production following mold preparation procedures focused on validating equipment function
• Operate Injection Molding Machines, Cranes, and Mold Carts to complete changes
• Load machine controller process parameters and validate all connections are accurate and functional (air, water, heaters)

Qualifications:

• Experience in Injection Molding Mold Installation/Removal required
• High School Diploma required
• High quality work ethic with great attention to detail
• Physical demands: stand, climb, twist, push/pull, work at elevated height, work in tight areas
• Willingness to learn new technology, equipment, and processes
