Installation & Maintenance Technician installs, maintains, tests, troubleshoots, and repairs switches, cables, and other telecommunications equipment in the field to ensure optimum network usage and quality. Role and Responsibilities
· Execution of the Planned and Preventative Maintenance schedule.
· Responsible for Troubleshooting by Applying Critical Thinking skills to Identify, Diagnose and Repair equipment problems.
· Must be able to Analyze and Understand Blueprints, Schematics, Layout plans and other materials.
· Demonstrated Knowledge and Skills in Hydraulics, Lubrication, and Mechanical equipment; basic understanding of types of lubricants and application of each.
· Ensure all work is performed in a timely and safe manner.
· Maintain all equipment, tools, and workstations.
· Ability to utilize skills to Improve equipment Optimization and Reliability.
· Maintain logs, and record labor, materials and equipment used.
· Effectively Communicate to all Team Members and Management any equipment deficiencies.
· Meticulous Attention to detail; able to follow instruction both written and verbal.
· Participate in Breakdown Analysis, Root Cause Analysis, Focused Improvement, and 5S projects.
· Ensure workers adhere to Local, State and Federal Codes and Regulations.
· Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
· High school diploma or equivalent education; trade school or college preferred.
· Minimum 3 years relevant work experience as a Millwright/Industrial Mechanic required.
· One year of In Plant Manufacturing Experience.
· Ability to work Independently and Utilize Critical Problem Solving and Decision-Making skills to Generate and Implement Solutions throughout the Process.
· Must maintain Compliance within all LOTO, Confined Space, Hot Work, Working at Heights Policies.
· OSHA 10 Training and Experience.
· Experience of MiG and stick welding.
· Exceptional Mechanical aptitude and willingness to assist in all tasks, jobs, and repairs.
· Ability to work extended hours to includes nights, weekends, and holidays.
· Ability to work at heights in excess of 80 feet, use man lifts, and work in confined spaces.
· Ability to work outdoors, rotating shifts, and lift 50 pounds required.
