    Job Summary
    The School of Education at The University of Southern Mississippi (USM) invites applicants for Visiting Assistant Professor beginning in August 2021. This is an opportunity to join a dynamic research, evaluation, statistics, and assessment [RESA] program. The RESA graduate program faculty currently provide instruction to non-majors in foundations of research, introductory statistics, survey research, and program evaluation. In addition, they provide training to majors in focus areas of advanced statistics, advanced research design, measurement, and evaluation. We aim to recruit applicants who are excellent teachers and will emphasize training students to become productive and thoughtful researchers. The School of Education’s RESA programs include a Master of Science degree and a Doctor of Philosophy degree.  Students taking our courses come from diverse graduate programs both within and outside of the school.  Program delivery includes face-to-face, online, and hybrid formats. Qualified applicants will be prepared to contribute to the teaching mission of the School of Education that has approximately 700 students across six different program areas.

    Primary Duties and Responsibilities

    1. Teaching and mentoring students across programs in traditional and online formats.
    2. Assessing student learning outcomes
    3. Demonstrating an understanding of cultural competence.
    4. Contributing to the mission of the university and profession through program       service activities.
