As contributors to the broader goals of IRIS and the University, Institutional Strategy proactively collaborates across the University to highlight and address challenging questions of institutional significance in order to make Notre Dame a more strategic university.
As part of the Institutional Strategy team, the Institutional Strategy Program Director will develop, lead, and implement major, cross-functional, high-impact projects and strategic planning efforts on behalf of IRIS. In all of these efforts, the Program Director will need to develop trusted relationships with the senior administrative leaders throughout the University, experts in IRIS, and other partners across campus. With success, this position will have a major impact on the strategic priorities and operations of the University and will provide an opportunity to work with a wide variety of academic and administrative units across campus.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors degree required; Must have at least 5 or more years of previous professional experience.

• Proven project management skills, with a demonstrated record of structuring initiatives, and mastering high-level objectives while concurrently remaining abreast of details, achieving impact and results, and managing professional team members who are not direct reports
• Excellent conceptual problem-solving skills, including familiarity and comfort with analytical reports
• Seasoned leadership skills and presence, with the ability to collaborate with the Universitys senior leaders, faculty, and experienced professionals
• Ability to prioritize and manage conflicting priorities simultaneously, with a demonstrated ability to make prudent decisions in high-pressure situations
• Outstanding oral and written communication skills with people at various levels/areas of the organization
• Strong interpersonal skills and team player, including a demonstrated ability to establish collaborative relationships, build consensus, utilize reasoned judgment in complex, sensitive political situations, and be willing to contribute in varied capacities to meet the teams goals
• Embrace change efforts with a recognized commitment to advancing excellence and implementing improvement
• Flexibility in accepting new assignments and adjusting priorities based on the evolution of major projects and the offices needs
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle confidential information appropriately
• Knowledge of, exposure to, and a deep interest in learning about the academy and administrative functions of a university
• Understanding of strategic planning efforts and the ability to drive change
• Ability to identify strategies and develop connections to facilitate multidisciplinary engagement to support the initiatives outlined in the University Strategic Framework

Preferred Qualifications:

• Advanced degree preferred (Master, Law and/or Ph.D.).
