The Instructional Assistant is a part-time position who has flexibility to make their own hours depending on the needs of the individual they serve. Hours for this position are typically sometime between 8am and 4pm on weekdays. Service is usually not offered on weekends, evenings, or holidays.

The Instructional Assistant will...
- Provide one of several different services depending on individual clients needs including:
1) In Home and Community Supports - supporting individuals within the home and community setting providing assistance with educational needs
2) Behavioral Support Services - helping individuals meeting their behavioral goals in order for them to lead a more fulfilling life.

It is the role of the Instructional Aide to support students with emotional and behavioral concerns within the general education, special education, or one-on-one session. The Instructional Aide works closely with the student to redirect behaviors, support student in maintaining focus, to decrease behavioral outbursts and work refusal. Instructional Aide supports are expected to take place within general education courses, special education courses, and/or one-on-one based on the student’s need and specially designed instruction. The Instructional Aide must also collaborate with teachers, special education case manager, and at times other related service providers. In addition, the Instructional Aide must collaborate monthly with the student’s special education case manager. The Instructional Aide is under the supervision of a clinical supervisor and is required to collaborate with a BSC. Quantitative data relating to behavioral needs and goals is a requirement for each session (either when in class providing supports or 1-on-1). Data and notes must be taken during each session.
