POSITION SUMMARY: The Instructional Technology Coach (ITC) will provide leadership for educators by co-planning, co-teaching, coaching, facilitating peer observation and facilitating professional development opportunities on the integration of technology as an instructional tool.
The ITC will collaborate closely with the District Instructional Coaches to provide braided support for teachers in pedagogical knowledge, content knowledge, and technological knowledge. This position requires a student-centered learning philosophy, creative problem-solving abilities, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and an eagerness to take a leadership role.
NOTE: The person in this role will be focused on supporting teaching and learning, not on supporting IT or technical issues
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Training, Experience, Licensure and Certification
- Minimum of five years successful teaching experience at the appropriate level
- Prior job-related experience in instructional technology
- Strong history of innovative teaching practices and building student aspirations
- Strong understanding of adult learning andragogy and pedagogy and their relation to technology integration
- Appropriate State Teaching license

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

- Support educators in the implementation of technology-enhanced learning experiences using a variety of research-based, learner-centered instructional strategies, resources, and assessment tools
- Support educators in the implementation of best practices regarding the use of the district supported learning management system and other technology resources provided by the distrct
- Investigate and disseminate information on best practices for technology integration and sources of information on trends, research and applications related to technology and instruction
- Identify technology integration competencies and deliver appropriate coaching, training and resources to support professional growth of adult learners
- Provide multiple methods of coaching to the educators:

Cognitive Coaching that invites educators to reshape their thinking about instructional strategies and learning
- Instructional Coaching that directly provides training, in-classroom modeling and co-teaching, and supports the collaborative planning process of Professional Learning Teams (PLT)
- Peer Coaching between educators that is organized and facilitated by the Instructional Technology Coach
- Leadership Coaching that supports the building administrators and teacher leaders in their work to support successful instructional implementation
- Facilitate and support collaboration within both horizontal and vertical teacher teams to affect continuity and articulation of the instructional program
- Work directly with students as part of modeling and co-teaching
- Facilitate and support cross-school opportunities that bring together educators from schools across the district
- Work collaboratively with instructional coaches, building principals, the Directors of Curriculum & Instruction, and members of the Instructional Leadership Team
- Communicate with parents and other community members as needed to promote the vision of technology-rich teaching and learning
