Currently, we are looking to add an Associate Scientist to the team:
Duties And Responsibilities- Synthesizes compounds to meet production demands, purifies synthesized compounds, works with milli- to kilogram quantities.
- Isolates and identifies desired product from complex mixtures.
- Improves methods for synthesis, analytical control, and purification of established molecules.
- Prepares accurate QC data packets prior to compound submission.
- Reports status of work to direct supervisor on a stepwise basis.
- Reads scientific literature with accuracy and understanding.
- Works cooperatively in a team environment.
- May hold specialized essential duties within the functions of the department.
- Writes SOPs for catalog items.
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in chemistry or related field.
- Experience: 5 years (with Bachelor’s), 3 years (with Master’s) relevant lab experience.
- Computer Skills: Microsoft Office, proficiency with chemistry related software such as ChemDraw.
- A fundamental understanding of chemistry and familiarity with analytical techniques for product purification and characterization.
- Able to interpret spectroscopic results, including Mass Spec, UV and HPLC.
- Able to perform complex lab calculations.
- Availability to work on site in Ann Arbor during normal business hours.
