Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being an Instructor - Communication provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Instructor - Communication typically reports to a department head. Has a Master's degree or is a PhD candidate in the applicable field. Has experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate level and possesses the qualifications to participate in research. Position Summary
The Department of Communication and Media at the University of Southern Indiana invites applicants for adjunct instructors to teach CMST 101: Introduction to Public Speaking and RTV 255: Media Production.
Required Knowledge and Skills
Part-time faculty inpublic speakingare required to either: (1) have a minimum of a master's degree in communication, or (2) hold a master's degree in a different academic area and have successfully completed at least eighteen (18) graduate credit hours of communication coursework.
Part-time faculty in media production are required to either: (1) have a minimum of a master's degree in communication, mass communication, or journalism, or (2) hold a master's degree in a different academic area and have successfully completed at least eighteen (18) graduate credit hours of communication coursework, or (3) hold a master's degree in a different academic area and have successfully completed at least 5 or more years of professional experience related to the specific area of teaching.About the Department
