Minimum Acceptable Characteristics
Must have High School Diploma or G.E.D.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Applicants must be able to work ANY shift as they will be trained on all 3 and then will be at the bottom of the pecking order for shift bidding.
Applicants must be able to work Holidays, weekends, 80 hrs / pay period with regular and on time attendance (Overtime is possible).
Must have good general and crisis communication skills including being a good listener, having clear audible speech and having good phone edict.
Must have or obtain LEADS and NCIC certification by the end of probation.
Must have or obtain Medical Dispatch training within 1 year of date of hire.
Must have general knowledge of the operations of the Sheriff's Office.
Must have typing certification from a reputable testing center with a minimum of 35 WPM and 90% accuracy.
Job Duties in Order of Importance :
30%Proper operation of telecommunications equipment within the Communications Center, including radio, telephone, 911 equipment, recording devices and computer terminals.
Support service functions to include but not limited to : recoding Dictaphone tapes, entering stolen items in in-house and LEADS Computer Systems and general duties associated with the communications function of the Logan County Sheriff's Office.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Benefits : 4 Personal Days expire quarterly available after 30 days of employment
Paid Vacation 2-5 weeks per year depending on service time.
Vacation does not expire and can roll over for up to 3 years. Available after one year of employment.
Begin earning paid sick time immediately, 3 weeks per year.
