Instructor - Dentistry teaches courses in the discipline area of dentistry. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being an Instructor - Dentistry provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Instructor - Dentistry typically reports to a department head. Has a Master's degree or is a PhD candidate in the applicable field. Has experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate level and possesses the qualifications to participate in research. Pediatric Dentists are responsible for the evaluation and treatment of pediatric dental patients. They have completed the required education and licensing to see pediatric patients from infants to adolescents. Pediatric Dentists are expected to be detailed oriented, have a strong work ethic, and excellent communication skills.
The primary responsibilities will include:Providing oral health education to parents and children in a clear and concise mannerDiagnosing and treating tooth decayCreating treatment plansCompleting preventative and restorative tooth treatments to include (but not limited to): dental sealants, silver diamine flouride, composite restorations, stainless steel crowns, pulp therapy, zirconia crowns, and extractionsHandling patient behavior including some patients with special needsProviding and overseeing oral conscious sedation when necessaryProviding excellent customer serviceQualifications, Competencies, and Strengths:Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental MedicineCompletion of Pediatric Residency program3 years of general dentistry experienceDemonstrated professionalism with patients and staffExperience in a using an electronic charting softwareAbility to work in a fast paced environmentPersonal Qualities and Values
