POSITION: Assistant Band Instructor
REPORTS TO: Campus Principal, Director of Fine Arts & Superintendent/Designee
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 195-227 days with benefits provided.
EXEMPTION STATUS: Salaried – Exempt.
PRIMARY PURPOSE: Facilitate the instrument-based performance groups and supplemental performers for afterschool, evening and weekend events. This would include, but not limited to, pep band, marching band, drum line, drill team, and color guard.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required
· Master’s degree from accredited university – Preferred
· Knowledge of overall operation of instrumental music programs
· Ability to manage budget and personnel
· Knowledge of state and UIL polices governing band
· Ability to implement policy and procedures
· Ability to interpret data
· Strong communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills
