      Educational Technology Data & Assessment Supervisor


      QUALIFICATIONS:
      1. Bachelor’s degree in related area desirable; equivalent experience in applied setting may be substituted
      2. Minimum five years experience in working with student assessment platforms and data analysis
      3. Knowledge of principles, methods, practices, and procedures of all aspects relative to student assessment and data analysis
      4. Experience in educational application, analysis, design, code generation, and implementation
      5. Knowledge of local and state assessment requirements and applicable codes, California Longitudinal Pupil Achievement Data System (CALPADS) reporting requirements and objectives
      6. Experience and ability to read and write Structured Query Language (SQL)
      7. Ability to assess implementation of educational programs based on District policies and core instructional goals
      8. Ability to organize project resources and requirements to meet established deadlines and goals
      9. Ability to devise methods and procedures for obtaining a variety of data
      10. Ability to identify data anomalies and/or irregularities
      11. Ability to make decisions and to provide leadership in a positive and harmonious way
      12. Ability to work effectively with staff and public; skill and accuracy in oral and written expression
      13. Valid California driver’s license and personal automobile for use on District business

      SUPERVISES: Staff as assigned


      JOB GOAL: To provide supervision, support, and technical assistance related to state and local assessments, set data standards in conjunction with other departments, manage data districtwide, train staff in data collection and procedures of assessments, and confer with school site administrators and support staff to maintain sound data reporting.

      PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

      1. Plans, organizes, leads, and monitors local and state assessments completion and data reporting
      2. Manages District data system, writes queries, and designs automated reports, and troubleshoots conflicts
      3. Conducts analyses to identify key trends in District, school, and student performance data to drive continuous improvements in student achievement
      4. Supports and implements assessment procedures and data reporting
      5. Compiles, analyzes, and provides valid conclusions from multiple data sources
      6. Prepares and compiles a variety of District, county, state, and federal reports in statistical, graphic, or narrative form
      7. Develops and presents oral, written, and visual summaries of data analysis
      8. Maintains current knowledge of trends and developments in assessments and related areas of technology, including current practices, equipment and materials as needed
      9. Identifies data quality issues and develops strategies to mitigate or resolve issues as appropriate
      10. Collaborates with Information Technology to ensure District-held data are successfully integrated into relevant data systems and available through District reporting systems
      11. Supervises the analysis, compilation, organization, and storage of large data sets containing District and state data
      12. Works with various departments and programs in preparing required reports and ensuring accurate reporting
      13. Trains and supports staff on proper use of Test Operations Management System (TOMS)
      14. Manages data reporting for mid-year and annual review of Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) using multiple data sources and disaggregates data to report progress
      15. Supports school sites and District personnel with state and local assessment platforms including, but not limited to, English Language Proficiency Assessment for California (ELPAC), California Assessment
      of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP), Aeries, and CALPADS
      16. Supervises and evaluates staff as assigned
      17. Models personal and professional values of equity, integrity, caring, collaboration, personal and collective accountability
      18. Performs other related duties as assigned

      SALARY: $5,893 - $7,172 per month

      EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the
      District’s “Improvement of Professional Services” handbook,
      Board Policies and Procedures and consistent with collective
      bargaining agreements when applicable

      NEW PROBATIONARY EMPLOYEES AND PERMANENT EMPLOYEES WHO BECOME PROBATIONARY UPON RECLASSIFICATION:

      A new employee, or a permanent employee who is changed to a new classification, shall serve a probationary period, which shall not exceed six (6) month of duty time exclusive of leaves of absence or other absences. During this probationary period the employee must meet the required standards of performance to be recommended for permanent status in the classification. A probationary classified service employee may be terminated from the probationary classification at any time without cause, without right of appeal or hearing before the Board of Education. Pursuant to Education Code section 45113, a permanent employee who accepts a promotion and fails to complete the probationary period for that promotional position, shall be employed in the classification from which he or she was promoted.

      CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

      Some positions may require proof of privately owned automobile insurance and the possession of a valid California Motor Vehicle operator’s license. Fingerprint clearance by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the California Department of Justice is a condition of appointment after all other required job conditions have been met. Must present verification of completion of Child Abuse Mandated Reporter training or obtain verification within six (6) weeks of hire and annually thereafter, as required by the California Child Abuse Neglect Reporting Act.
